Haikyu!! Teases Sanrio Collab Announcement
Haikyu!! has joined the various anime titles that have collaborated with Sanrio.
On the volleyball anime's official English Twitter, a new post includes artwork of Haikyu!! protagonist Shoyo Hinata next to Sanrio's Pochacco. While the tweet hinted at a future collaboration between Haikyu!! and the Japanese company behind Hello Kitty, it's unclear what merchandise will release and where it will be available. The anime previously joined forces with the video game Ninja Town to commemorate Haikyu!!'s 10th anniversary.

Sanrio's Many Anime Collaborations
In the past several years, Sanrio has released anime-themed items based on multiple series, including Jujutsu Kaisen, Gundam and My Hero Academia. In April 2022, the company teamed up with Naruto and created kawaii keychains modeled after primary characters in the Big Three anime, like the titular protagonist, Sasuke Uchiha, Sakura Haruno, Kakashi Hatake and a few more available options. Sanrio previously unveiled a collection of expensive vinyl figures, including Hello Kitty dressed as Naruto in his Shippuden outfit.
Sanrio Company has remained a dominant leading figure in Japanese pop culture since its founding in 1960. In 1974, Sanrio created the iconic character of Hello Kitty, a cartoon feline who eventually became an international phenomenon. In 1990, Japan opened its doors to Sanrio's Puroland, a popular theme park in Tokyo with events and restaurants based on characters like Hello Kitty, My Melody, Cinnamoroll, Gudetama and Aggretsuko. The Japanese company also runs an outdoor theme park named Harmonyland, after the Sanrio character My Harmony.

The Story of Haikyu!!
In 2012, Haruichi Furudate'se Haikyu!! manga began serialization in Weekly Shōnen Jump. After ending in 2020, the volleyball series had over 55 million copies in circulation, and an anime adaptation by Production I.G., which ran for four seasons. It also received a gag manga called Let's! Haikyu!?, which recently ended. Haikyu!! follows a teenager named Shoyo Hinata, who aspires to be a renowned volleyball player despite his short stature. At Karasuno High School, Shoyo meets his rival, Tobio Kageyama, known as the "King of the Court."
In August 2022, the Haikyu!! team announced a two-part film titled Haikyu!! Final would serve as the anime's finale instead of a fifth season. Toei Animation and Production I.G. will helm the upcoming project, which plans on hosting a kick-off event in August 2023. The teaser trailer for the full-length movies included multiple panels from Furudata's manga, some of which took place during the post-time skip story arc.
Haikyu!! is available to stream on Crunchyroll. The Haikyu!! x Sanrio collaboration has not yet had a release date announced.
