Halloween with Hello Kitty kicks off at Tokyo's Sanrio Puroland!
In Japan, Halloween means many amusement parks are rolling out spooky decorations and events sure to keep you entertained. |
Not to be outdone, Sanrio Puroland, home to Hello Kitty, My Melody and all the other Sanrio characters you love, is hosting “PURO HALLOWEEN” until Nov. 1.
In this year’s Halloween, the castle for Sanrio fairies, a short 40-minute drive from Yokota Air Base will focus on a magical phrase “Trick or Treat!” You will be entertained by Sanrio characters who are divided into two teams – “Trick Team” and “Treat Team”. While the Trick Team will spook you with their eerie antics, the Treat Team will tempt you with their delicious cookies and sweets.
Upon entry on the third floor, get ready for your close-up at the special Halloween photo spot in the Rainbow Hall for pics with Hello Kitty and various other Sanrio characters in their Halloween costumes.
Stop in at the restaurants and food court for a variety of special Halloween-themed treats and meals like a trick-or-treat croquet, pumpkin-cream cupcake and mysterious purple soda. Various Halloween-themed Sanrio goods are also available for purchase.
Enjoy the festive orange and purple Halloween decorations inside as well as many shows hosted throught the day inside the indoor theme park. Check out the “Let’s trick or treat!” stage show where Hello Kitty and Dear Daniel and the “Trick Team” and “Treat Team” compete against each other with various games and dances set to cheerful Halloween music. Grab a good spot near the Tree of Knowledge Stage for the “Meukledreamy March – Gather☆Dreamy Mates,” parade featuring Meukledreamy and her friends.
Kids ages three to elementary school-age can get free candy on the first floor and for older kids, there is an immersive spooky event at the restaurant on the fourth floor. “Vampire Café- Broken Commandment” features Sanrio characters in vampire attire and tasty seasonal treats available for purchase.
Add Puroland to your activities list this Halloween season. It’s a trip worth taking any time of the year, but at Halloween, the park offers a fun, spooky time.
