Steve Aoki’s Dim Mak has partnered up with Sanrio®, the iconic lifestyle brand, for a second apparel collaboration, DIM MAK x SANRIO Drop 2 which releases today, July 16th, 2021. Arriving on the heels of December 2020’s initial exclusive clothing collaboration, DIM MAK x SANRIO Drop 2 is another bold, colorful collection showcasing an extended cast of Sanrio’s most beloved characters and introducing a brand-new mashup: Hello Aoki. Hello Aoki, based on none other than DJ Steve Aoki himself, takes his new friends on a fantastic trip through a universe of colorful landscapes, starry skies, rainbows galore, and colorful flying whales.

“In our previous collaboration with Sanrio, I was really curious about what these iconic characters could tell us if we could see their eyes,” said  Steve Aoki. “So we gave them all super emotional anime eyes.  This time, I wanted to take Hello Kitty and the crew on a ride into my subconscious –  vivid colors, unexpected juxtapositions, and even flying whales!”

Of course, Hello Kitty and Friends needed a good tour guide, which led to Dim Mak and Sanrio’s creation of Hello Aoki. Steve worked closely with Sanrio to develop and design Hello Aoki, a mashup that blends Steve’s look with Hello Kitty’s. Hello Aoki is complete with long black hair and wide-open anime-inspired eyes, a feature exclusive to the characters featured in Dim Mak collaborations.

“I am so humbled that Sanrio created Hello Aoki based off me,” added Aoki. “I have loved all things Hello Kitty ever since I was a kid, so being able to interact with Hello Kitty in this way is such an honor.”

For the latest collection, Hello Aoki is pictured alongside an extended cast of popular Sanrio characters including Hello Kitty, Cinnamoroll™, Kuromi™, Monkichi™, Chococat™  and more!

“Based on the tremendous response from our first collaboration, we couldn’t be more excited to team up with Steve Aoki on the second drop in our anime-influenced clothing line,” said Craig Takiguchi, Chief Operating Officer at Sanrio, Inc. “With Steve’s unique design perspective and genuine love for Sanrio, our one-of-a-kind collection will speak to fans who are looking for a fun new way to experience the Hello Kitty and Friends brand.”

Continuing the momentum from Dim Mak x Sanrio’s Fall 2020 drop, the latest capsule blends bright colorways, brilliant tie-dyes, and psychedelic designs for a reimagined take on the new and existing characters. The Dim Mak x Sanrio collection includes an array of t-shirt and hoodie styles ranging from $38 – $85 USD, and is available now at www.dimmakcollection.com, the NTWRK platform, and www.sanrio.com.
